FINAL SUBMISSION

STRATEGY STATEMENT

My story setting is people left because the horrible weather which is raining all the time, the environment became too wet to live. The Barcelona Pavillion after 100 years of human civilization will still survive, but destroyed by nature power, such as earthquake.

Barcelona Pavillion used materials like veneers of Tinos verde antico marble, golden onyx, tinted glass and translucent glass. Materials like marble and onyx are really hard, they will not crack as time goes on. They can only be rended by earthquake, the walls and floors are both made by marble which will break into few big pieces after earthquake. The glass will all break into pieces and disappear as time goes on.

Because the wet environment, there will be moss growth on the marble. After hundred years, grass and trees become very tall, and also grow in the house through the crevice which caused by earthquake.

My trailer is based on a gloomy atmosphere, I am using a grey colour tones to show the desolation of the place after people left. The desolate forest only has flourishing plants after people left hundred years.

Sketches of what i think would happen to the Barcelona Pavillion after a 100 years of human civilization. Barcelona Pavillion used materials like veneers of Tinos verde antico marble, golden onyx, tinted glass and translucent glass. The marble and onyx will rend after 100 years. and the glass will all break into pieces.

I just finished model my chosen house and start to add material to the house.

 Brick
Properties
Bricks are used for building, block paving and pavement. Modern clay bricks are formed in one of three processes - soft mud, dry press, or extruded. Normally, brick contains the ingredients: Sand, Clay, Lime, Iron oxide and Magnesia.
A brick's compressive strength is based on its solidness or hollowness, its base material and the method is used to fire the raw materials into their final consistency. When bricks with a high compressive strength are used to build a structure, that structure will be very strong because of the quality of the materials.
 Concrete
Properies
Concrete is a composite construction material composed primarily of aggregate, cement, and water.
Concrete is widely used for making architectural structures, foundations, brick  walls, pavements, bridges, motorways, runways, parking structures, dams, reservoirs, pipes, footings for gates, fences and poles and even boats.
Concrete has relatively high compressive strength, but much lower tensile strength. For this reason it is usually reinforced with materials that are strong in tension. Concrete can be damaged by many processes, such as the freezing pf trapped water.
Environment Impact
The environmental impact of concrete is a complex mixture of not entirely negative effects:  while concrete is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, recycling of concrete is increasingly common in structures that have reached the end of their life. Structures made of concrete can have a long service life. As concrete has a high thermal mass and very low permeability, it can make for energy efficient housing.

 Marble

 Properties
Marble -- formed from limestone with heat and pressure over years in the earth's crust. These pressure or forces cause the limestone to change in texture and makeup. The process is called recrystallization. Fossilized materials in the limestone, along with its original carbonate minerals, recrystallize and form large, coarse grains of calcite.Crushed or ground marble is also used in paving roads and in manufacturing roofing materials and soil treatment products.
Construction marble is a stone which is composed of calcite, dolomite or serpentine which is capable of taking a polish. More generally in construction, specifically the dimension stone trade, the term "marble" is used for any crystalline calcitic rock useful as building stone. For example, Tennessee marble is really a dense granular fossiliferous gray to pink to maroon Ordovician limestone that geologists call the Holston Formation.

week8 works

Barcelona Pavilion
The Barcelona Pavilion designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.It is an important building in the history of modern architecture, known for its simple form and its spectacular use of extravagant materials, such as marble, red onyx and travertine.

House in Bordeaux.
The building is composed of three houses superimposed over each other: three floors of a completely different nature and clear visual contrast. the lower ground floor is dug into the rocky hillside and is available in several caves, the plant is in the midst of glass and transparent, and the top floor is divided into several rooms.

Rudin House
Rudin House was one of the earliest works of Herzog & de MeuronIt. is a parallelepiped voluntarily heavy reinforced concrete seen on the other is high soil floating on a tray supported by thin pillars. The house is symmetrical lengthwise, but the ladder breaks on the inside with a slight shift and omits any verbose dimension to the tour.
